Chronic illness doesn't vanish
Just because I have plans
It doesn't stop so I can live
When my schedule gets filled
When I am busy in my life
My health takes a back seat
I need to focus on my plans
Not on how I'm feeling
But that's when my health takes a dive
My fatigue starts to show
It won't be forgotten or stopped
If I try to ignore
It tries to stop me in my tracks
But I must keep going
My stomach hurts and it can bloat
It's so uncomfortable
My pain increases from walking
From stress and from fatigue
My body tells me stop and rest
But I must continue
I can feel the flare coming on
But I can't prevent it
I have to press on regardless
My plans can't be ignored

It will always be there
