When a friend invites you out
For most people it’s an easy yes
You’ll be there no matter what
And not think about it too much
But when you have a chronic illness
You have to plan ahead and hope
Hope that you be well enough
To attend and enjoy yourself
You can’t always say a definite yes
And definitely can’t do last minute
You must know there is time to rest
And a way out if it gets too much
You must prioritise certain events
The ones you really want to go
As you know you can’t go to everything
No matter how hard you try
