Chronic fatigue is more than just feeling tired

There is not a time I’m free from it

Every minute of every day I struggle on

Though it may not be obvious to everyone

I may smile and carry on sometimes

Other times I cannot get out of bed

When it knocks me down you will not see me

There us nothing I can do except rest

Chronic fatigue is more than just feeling tired

I feel sick when I’ve done too much

My head goes fuzzy and heavy

I cannot speak or think clearly

When I get like this there is no magical energy reserve

I start to feel really unwell

I must stop completely

Cancel all my plans and just sleep

Chronic fatigue is more than just feeling tired

My tired is different than your tired

When I admit defeat I’m at my worse

Please don’t take it as complaining

Please understand I cannot help it

No matter how much I try to pace

Sometimes it comes out of nowhere

And there is nothing I can do
