I would like to say a huge Thank You to Amanda from Walk a Myelin My Shoes for nominating me for the Blogger Recognition Award. I have been following her blog for some time and it really inspires me to keep moving forward with my life despite living with a chronic illness. If you haven’t already, please make sure to check out her amazing blog!
I am still quite new to blogging, but knowing I have such a huge support network of chronic illness bloggers and that we all look out for each other, is truly inspirational. It is so much more than just blogging, it is a community.
How It All Began:
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in March 2018, although I had been suffering with chronic pain and fatigue for around 10 years by this point. Receiving the diagnosis was very confusing and hard to come to terms with. I have always loved writing but struggle to concentrate for long periods of time due to the fibro. I started by writing a poem called Hello Fibro and from there I just started to document my journey and thoughts living with fibromyalgia through poetry. I have been posting on my blog for almost 3 months now and it really helps me to put things into perspective. I hope it is also helping others come to terms with chronic illness 💜💜
Advice to New Bloggers:
1. Be honest in your blog. Don’t hide behind it, be as open and honest as possible about your subject and let the words flow out without having to think too hard. Sometimes the best posts are spur of the moment.
2. Always remember why you are doing your blog. Don’t stray off the past and get lost in the numbers – of followers, likes, comments. It can suck you in and leave you blogging for no other reason than to get more activity. You started it for a purpose, don’t forget that.
The Rules:
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog
- Write a post explaining how your blog got started
- Give 2 pieces of advice to new bloggers
- Nominate 15 other bloggers you feel deserve some recognition
- Comment on each blog nominating them, providing the link to the post you created
Nominations for the Blogger Recognition Award:
Keep blogging 💜💜💜
Thank you so much for thinking of me Bethan! I loved reading about how you got started with your blog, and you gave some great advice for new bloggers. Being honest and remembering why you started are two of the best things you can do. As you said, it’s easy to get lost in the numbers, etc. and forget why you started your blog to begin with. Thanks again. Blessings to you!

Congrats on the well-deserved award! I’m sorry you’ve had to struggle for so long before a diagnosis too; I found my diagnosis hard to come to terms with, and to be honest, a lot of days I find it hard to get my head around and accept. Brilliant advice, especially being honest and open. Thank you so much for the kind nomination!!  ♥
